Hand in Hand with Jesus

Day 1, Scene 2: The Glory of Heaven

THE LORD JESUS: David, look into the distance ahead of us. What do you see?

DAVID: I see a strangely beautiful glow on the horizon.

THE LORD JESUS: Look deeper!

DAVID: Oh Lord I can see with my spiritual eyes a beautiful scene in heaven!

THE LORD JESUS: What do you see?

DAVID: Lord, I can see myself standing in a great company of saints and angels in heaven shouting and lifting palms of glory! How can I be there and here at the same time?

THE LORD JESUS: You are not David, but you are seeing yourself in the future after you have walked with me throughout your entire life and have arrived in the eternal reward of heaven. There you are with the book of Revelation saints of God!

DAVID: Lord this thrills me deep in my soul!

THE LORD JESUS: Good, David, enjoy this feeling of sheer joy, and always remember it as you go forth on your journey in your life with me. Keep this vision always fresh in your mind and heart, and in times of trouble, you will look up and see my face and feel my hands to comfort you in the darkest hours of your life.

Lessons from the Holy Word of God

And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near! (Luke 21:25-28)

Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be my son. But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. (Revelation 21:1-8)

DAVID: Oh Lord Jesus, I can hardly stand the glory that I feel inside me! I am so overjoyed at this thought of heaven that I have to stop for a minute and get my breath. I offer to you the eternal praise and blessings that your holy name rightly deserves!
